It’s All SEC for National Title – Alabama vs Georgia

It’s All SEC for National Title
Alabama and Georgia Impress in Semi-final Matchups

Both SEC teams won their Semi-final games to earn the CFP national championship on January 10th.

Alabama and Georgia had strong wins in last Friday’s semi-finals. Bama methodically defeated Cincinnati 27-6 in the Cotton Bowl to retain their #1 ranking entering the title game. Georgia was just as impressive drilling Michigan in the Orange Bowl 34-11.

They will meet in a rematch of the 2021 SEC title game where Bama smashed the Bulldogs perfect season with a 41-24 victory. The score does not reflect the fact that the Tide dominated from the opening kickoff and the final looks closer than the actual contest. Alabama has won seven straight against Georgia, including that overtime triumph in the CFP title game, and three SEC championship game victories, the most recent coming Dec. 4.

The 2022 title game has all the makings of a Classic close matchup despite the SEC title game lopsided game. Georgia spent most of the season as the #1 team, while Alabama ranked high though rarely dominated after midseason.
