Three Rookie Runners Push for 1000-yard Campaigns in 2022 Season Finale

Pierce has had an outstanding rookie campaign with 220 carries for 939 yards, a 4.27 yard average and 4TDs. He also adds 30 receptions for 165 yards and 1 TD entering his final game at Indianapolis. It is even more amazing that he has accomplished this with the team with the worst record in the league at this point of the season. He was one of the few shining performers for the Texans who once again with select in the top five draft choices and possibly the first overall selection with a loss at Indianapolis this Sunday.

Pierce’s scouting report from March 2022 is below and listed as one of our most underrated offensive players in the draft class.

Walker has been instrumental in the Seahawks run for the playoffs this season, becoming their feature back with game breaking speed to change games. He enters his final contest with 936 yards on 199 carries for a 4.7 yard average and 7 TDs. He faces the Rams this week at home, hoping to pass the 1000 yard. Allgeier has 900 yards on 186 carries for a 4.8 yard average and 3 TDs. He faces the Bucs at home this week and it will take a 100 yard performance to hit the coveted mark.

The last time three rookie running backs topped the 1000-yard rushing mark was the NFL 2008 season. That year runners, Matt Forte, Chris Johnson and Steve Slaton all topped the 1200-yard rushing mark.

Short compact two-year starter has been a consistent performer in the Gators’ pro-style offense. Low based back with good initial quickness, the speed to hit a hole and get outside. Fine vision and knows how to read and follow his blocks with sound decision making. Quickness to jump cut and string a few moves together. Good lower body power to break tackles with the speed through the hole to make plays and move the pile. Rarely goes down at first contact. Finishes with good body lean to make extra yardage. Displays reliable hands as a receiver and improved throughout his career. Runs the route tree with good patterns and initial coverage reads. Effective on screen passes and moves decisively up field after securing the catch. Needs to find soft spots in zones better and become a primary outlet receiver. Maxed out frame and probably at a good weight to run inside. Adept at seeing even a small crease and slipping through it quickly. Capable of handling a lot of touches. Size may be a liability when it comes to pass protection in the NFL, though definitely tough enough to make the step up and face a backer. At the NFL Combine, he came in at under 5’10” and 218 lbs. Ran a 4.59 time and did 21 reps. Added a 34.5” VL and a 9’11” BJ. Marginal career production. Shows adequate top end speed with the quick acceleration to get to the 2nd level with the creativity to hit openings and running lanes. As a receiver, shows developing skills to press in time for 3rd down role. Tough blocker with makeup to face up with backers after further technique work. Probably top 150–200 prospect and capable of being a quality starter, 1A or 3rd down back. Obscure well rounded prospect with the talent to fill a key, though limited role early in an offense. Talent to become solid surprise. Honest runner whose best football is ahead of him and a bargain on the 3rd day of the process.

 Here is our Scouting Report of defender Tariq Woolen from last spring when we ranked him as the #7 cornerback in the class and projected him to be a 2nd-3rd round pick on talent and value. Incredibly, he fell to the Seattle in the 5th round, the 153rd overall selection. He has been one of the premier defenders in this rookie class which has featured several outstanding first year starters like Ahmad ‘Sauce’ Gardner and Derek Stingley.

 After 14 games this season, Woolen has registered 51 tackles with 39 of them solo stops along with 6 interceptions and 13 pass breakups with one returned for a TD. He fits the Seahawks tradition and mold for long athletic cover men and has been arguably the best value of the entire NFL Draft 2022. He has started since training camp and has established himself as a fixture in the Seahawks secondary.

Long athlete made a successful conversion to cornerback after starting his career as a wide receiver. Made incredible progress especially over his final season, showing natural skills and the tough demeanor to be a top flight pro. Freakish prototypical skill set for the position and really responded to coaching on the basics of the corner spot.  Strong athletic frame with very good movement skills for the position. Over his short career, he gained experience in several techniques especially man situations and has made quick improvement raising his LOD. Rare combination of length, speed, fluidity and physicality to be a top pro corner with further development. Shows outstanding length and leaping skills combined with blazing speed gives him the traits of a top flight shutdown cover man. Currently he is still developing on basics and needs work on his pedal which can be too high, in addition to a hesitation in his reads which allows separation early on the route. Reliable open-field tackling ability with sound technique and hand use to get off blockers. Good at the line when coming up to take on blockers and finish. Willing to stick his nose in the middle of the action and fights off blocks to aggressively make tackles. Able to effectively handle press coverage and adept at bump-and-run using his strong hands to deliver a powerful punch. Uses his length and strength to reroute receivers off the jam. Opens his hips smoothly with the ability to retain fine speed and tight coverage. Shows the ability to turn, run and blanket his man while maintaining good speed down the field. Displays the good vision, balance, timing and ball skills to break up passes. Finished with 2 career interceptions and 9 PBUs. Developing instincts and awareness to adjust to plays outside his zone. Needs to be more decisive in his initial reads and learn to trust his eyes. At times, he gets too physical and can grab receivers and needs to be more disciplined. Usually stays on top of deep routes, though can give up too much separation at times vs top route runners through the intermediate zones. Most effective when asked to play man coverage, though grades out high in zones. Needs work on route recognition to be NFL ready. Faced average talent and graded out highly, but must prove ready for NFL air attacks. Displays a short memory and the tough mentality the position demands. In 2021, he started 9 games and made 25 tackles, 3 TFL, 1 pick and 5 PBU, earning first team CUSA honors. Over his two seasons at corner, he started 20 games and made 60 tackles, 2 picks, 2 sacks and 9 PBUs. At the NFL Combine, he came in at over 6’4” and 205 lbs. with 33 5/8” arms and 9 1/8” hands. Ran a blazing 4.26 time and added a 42” vertical leap. Performed fairly well in big game situations, though struggled early in 2021 when he was beat for a few TDs when looking into the backfield. With more technique development and consistency, has the talent to be among the class’s best corners. Though still raw in basics, he is a talented prospect who is making real strides at the position. At the Senior Bowl, made progress in his pedal and reads, areas which must improve to get reps in the NFL. Similar to Greedy Williams/Jimmy Smith in natural skills, AA, development and hitting power. Similar not only in size but raw skill set, which needs time and refinement. Fast riser off a quick learning curve, though still raw and a work in progress on finer points of coverage. Hitter with ability to intimidate receivers and durable at a demanding position. Top 60 pick with incredible ceiling.

Giants’ rookie edge defender put on a dominant performance vs the Commanders on Sunday night earning defensive rookie of the week for the 3^rd time this season. Thibodeaux is a well- developed defender with big play ability off the edge plus good run support talent to hold the edge and pursue down the line.

In a strong rookie defensive group, he has the skill set to be one of the special players in this draft class. He took over the game Sunday night vs the Commanders and changed the outcome in the balance. He has filled the much needed impact edge defender the Giants have sought in recent years.

Defensive End – Positional Overview:

This year’s defensive end class is a very strong group which could produce as many as six #1 picks. There are several blue-chip prospects at the top and probably 5 should go in the top 15 selections. There could be as many as 10-12 in the top three rounds with as many as 15 thru the middle rounds. Aidan Hutchinson is the best defender in this draft class and could be a top two overall pick. He is NFL ready and a three-down starter. Kayvon Thibodeaux is an explosive edge defender and among the best of this special class of edge defenders. He figures in the top few selections.

Physically gifted true junior declared for the NFL Draft after an injury marred 2021 season limited by an ankle injury. Freakish athlete with rare combination of length, agility, speed and power to play in both NFL fronts. Long angular frame with long arms (33 1/8”) and quick feet to play both outside positions in either pro scheme. Shows explosiveness off the snap to be an impact speed pass rusher with the size, length and natural strength to also win as a power rusher. The ideal defender as a weak side end in a 4-3 scheme, as well as the agility and foot quickness to play outside in a 3-4 front. His versatility and upside potential make him attractive to all defenses and should land among the top overall selections. Despite facing double team blocking, he continued to make impact plays along the talented Ducks’ front. Rare physical traits for the position with the agility of a linebacker and power of a lineman. Chiseled physique and well distributed with the room to add muscle to fit the prototypical measurables for an elite pro edge rusher. Shows fine functional strength to stack and shed blockers, though can be engulfed at the point at times. Uses his good height to his advantage and uses his long arm to get blockers off his body and follow with technique to separate and burst to the ball. Very good movement skills and footwork for his size and when called upon to drop into coverage on zone blitzes, showed good agility and coordination. Displays a very good spin move to disengage blockers with a great closing burst. Special quick-twitch athleticism and comes off the snap quickly and shows rare flexibility to bend the edge. Consistent with his knee bend and use of leverage. Currently his pass rush is a nice combination of speed and power, though he needs to refine and add new moves to become a premier pro edge defender. Shows the speed to be very effective in pursuit to the opposite sidelines or downfield. Fine length to effectively disrupt passing lanes and be a factor deflecting passes. Shows a strong jarring hand punch, though needs further development to gain a consistent early advantage. Shows deceptive strength to hold the POA and win most individual battles, though his narrow frame makes him vulnerable at the point. Relies mainly on his initial burst and swim move to beat blockers and needs to develop moves like a rip and using his long arm better especially facing the double team. Must play with good pad level to maintain leverage. Sound awareness with agility and balance to move down the LOS to finish. Fine short area burst to win early on the down and penetrate the backfield. Over the 2021 season, he started 11 games and finished with 50 tackles, 12 TFL, 8 QB hurries, 1 PBU, 2 FF and 7 sacks and earned 1st team Pac-12 honors. His production slipped late in the season when he received special attention weekly with double team blocking. Over his three-year career, he played in 31 games with 123 tackles, 35.5 TFL, 3 FF, 7 PBU and 19 sacks. In three Pac-12 championship games, he combined for 21 QB hurries, 13 tackles, 5.5 TFL and 4.5 sacks. At the NFL Combine, he came in at 6’4” and 254 lbs. with 33 1/8” arms and 9 3/4” hands. Ran a 4.58 time with a 1.59 ten-yard split. Added 27 reps in the lifting. Excellent fit for weakside end in a 4-3 set or the attack backer role in a 3-4 scheme. Talented defender with the complete skill set, though must dispel the somewhat hot and cold label. Blue chip #1 prospect with the skills similar to Demarcus Ware in AA, body type and Pro Bowl potential. Must adapt to facing double teams to be an elite NFL defender. Dedication to football has been questioned, though his production disputes that. Top 5 pick with incredible upside and scheme diversity to become a difference maker. Special elite edge rusher.

The Reese’s Senior Bowl is widely regarded as the preeminent college football all-star game. It is the longest continual-running all-star game has taken place in Mobile, Alabama the past 73 years.  More than 900 NFL personnel, including key decision-makers from all 32 teams, and over 900 media members from around the country were credentialed last year. This past April, the game produced a record-tying 106 total picks for the second straight year, representing 40 percent of the entire NFL Draft 2022, including 45 of the top 100 players selected.

The 2023 Senior Bowl includes athletes from every level of college football. These are the best-of-the-best from around the country and will represent many levels of play and multiple conferences. Players will fill the roster spots that form the National and American squads for the nation’s premier all-star game. Over 100 of the country’s best collegiate football players will fill the two rosters directed by two current NFL coaching staffs. This roster will be updated weekly through January 2023 with NFL coaching staffs announced after coaching changes have been made following the 2022 season.

#2 – 8-1 Eagles
The Eagles were wacked by the Commanders to fall from the undefeated ranks. They get a heavy dose of NFC matchups through the 2nd half that will challenge their NFC East leadership.

#3 – 8-1 Vikings
Vikings beat the Bills in Buffalo which is their biggest victory in years. QB Kirk Cousins continues to direct this high powered offense with wideout Justin Jefferson emerging as a dominant #1 playmaker.

#4 – 6-3 Bills
Bills have lost two in a row for the first time in a year. Ailing Josh Allen made a few big mistakes that cost them in key spots. Host the desperate Browns this week in a vital AFC game for both clubs.

#5 – 6-3 Ravens
The Ravens come off their bye week with a three game winning streak. Seven of their final eight games are against clubs with sub .500 records making them the favorite to claim the AFC North.

#6 – 7-3 Dolphins
Dolphins drilled the Browns thoroughly behind a balanced attack. Their defense needs to step up to hold the AFC East leadership and win key late games. They get their bye week here with critical AFC road games on their late schedule.

#7 – 6-3 Titans
The Titans beat the Broncos in tight AFC game. Travel to titletown to face the Packers on Thursday night
who are desperate for a winning stretch after being one of the more disappointing clubs in the
league.

#8 – 5-4 49ers
The 49ers came up big vs the Chargers in crunch time to get above the .500 mark. Their second half schedule is very favorable and they are on the verge of peaking in a weaker NFC West than expected at the start of the season.

#9 – 6-3 – Cowboys
The Cowboys are coming off a tough loss to the Packers in OT. Travel to Minnesota to face the 8-1 Vikings. Vet QB Dak Prescott faces a critical stretch here with this club needing strong leadership through an important series of games.

#10 – 7-2 Giants
The Giants are riding runner Saquon Barkley and QB Danny Jones into playoff contention. Face the Lions at home this week and better not look past this pesky club who stays within reach each game. GMen face a critical stretch from Thanksgiving thru Christmas which will determine any postseason plans.

#11 – 5-4 Bengals
The Bengals come off their bye week and travel to Pittsburgh with huge AFC North implications. Their big play offense behind Joe Burrow and Joe Mixon needs to set the pace behind a shaky line. Burrow is capable of carrying a club if consistent protection is provided.

#12 – 5-4 Chargers
The inconsistent Chargers fell late to the 49ers. Their offense struggles with injuries along the line and receiving corps limiting QB Justin Herbert. They host the Chiefs Sunday night in a must win situation for Chargers if they expect to challenge for the AFC West title or postseason.

#13 – 6-4 Seahawks
Seahawks lost to the Bucs in Germany in a close game.  They get their bye week now to prep for a favorable final seven games. Vet QB Geno Smith and impressive rookie back Kenneth Walker gives this club a potent offense to matchup well with most teams.

#14 – 5-4 Patriots
The Pats come off their bye week and host the Jets where they have a long winning streak. Though currently in the AFC East basement, they are dangerous in big games and capable to pushing for a playoff spot in a wide open AFC race.

#15 – 6-3 Jets
Jets made a strong recovery from an earlier loss to the Patriots and shocked the Bills at home in their best victory in years. They get their rematch with the Patriots this week and must find a way to beat their division rival if they want to retain their momentum from the Buffalo win. QB Zach Wilson faces a huge test here.

#16 – 5-5 – Bucs
Bucs get to the .500 mark with win over the Seahawks entering their bye week. This veteran club is dangerous and holds first place in the weak NFC South. Five of their final seven games are against clubs with sub .500 records currently.

#17 – 4-6 Packers
The Packers ended their five game losing streak with a huge win over the Cowboys. They are within reach of a wildcat spot with a run here. They host the Titans on Thursday night in a must win situation to keep abreast in the NFC race.

#18 – 5-5 Commanders
The Commanders knocked the Eagles from the unbeatens and stayed in the NFC race despite residing in the basement. Travel to Houston and must sustain the momentum behind a savvy QB Taylor Heinicke and tough defense.

#19 – 3-6 Rams
Rams continue to struggle as injuries mount with wideout Cooper Kupp the latest casualty. They travel to New Orleans this week in a must win situation for both playoff hopefuls.

#20 – 3-6 Browns
Browns were crushed by the Dolphins last week. They get veteran QB DeShaun Watson off suspension, though he probably sits out the game vs the Bills this week. This club is probably prepping for next season unless they can a get strong run here.

#21 – 4-6 Falcons
Falcons were shocked by the Panthers last Thursday night. Host the Bears this week in a must win situation to get into the playoff race Their unreliable defense fails repeatedly in big spots and must find a way to contain Bears QB Justin Fields this week.

#22 – 4-6 Cardinals
The hot and cold Cardinals beat the Rams last week behind Colt McCoy. They travel to Mexico to face the 49ers in a must win situation for any mathematical changes for the postseason.

#23 – 4-5-1 Colts
Colts won their first game under new HC Jeff Saturday vs the lowly Raiders. Host the Eagles this week and are still alive in the AFC where many teams are within a game of .500 entering the stretch run.

#24 – 3-6 Steelers
Steelers are coming off a nice win over the Saints. Host the Bengals in a critical matchup for them to get into the playoff hunt. Rookie top pick QB Kenny Pickett will lead this team from here and gain valuable experience to advance his development.

#25 – 3-7 Saints
The Saints struggled to generate any offense vs the Steelers defense. This club lacks their future starting QB on the roster and is in limbo with a fading veteran unit with many expected upcoming changes.

#26 – 3-7 Bears
The Bears fell in a wild game with the Lions. QB Justin Fields has taken his game to another level especially as a runner. They travel to Atlanta with only slight chances to get into the playoff picture.

#27 – 3-7 Jaguars
Jaguars were outclassed by the Chiefs last week. They get their bye this week to prep for a late run in the weak AFC South where 2nd place is possible.

#28 – 3-6 – Broncos
The most disappointing team this season failed again last week in a must win situation. Their inept offense is the lowest scoring unit in the league which must improve here or else face major changes this offseason.

#29 – 3-6 Lions
The pesky Lions edged the Bears last week with several big plays deciding the outcome. They travel to MetLife to face the Giants in a competitive matchup where they hope to again surprise.

#30 – 3-7 Panthers
Panthers are coming off a nice win over the Falcons. Travel to Baltimore looking to be competitive vs the emerging Ravens.

#31 – 2-7 Raiders
Da Raiders know how to loss and failed vs the Colts last week. Travel to Denver in a matchup of two of the most disappointing clubs in the league.

#32 – 1-7-1 Texans
Texans have the poorest record in the league despite some competitive performances. They need a huge influx of talent and the #1 overall pick would give them the leverage to add a few new players.

The Ravens pulled off a blockbuster deal with the Bears to acquire young backer Roquan Smith. He gives them an impact defender with big play ability to blitz, in addition to going sideline to sideline. They surrendered a #2 and #5 picks in the NFL Draft 2023 plus LB AJ Klein.

The 49ers went after runner Christian McCaffrey aggressively after the Panthers fired HC Matt Rhule and went 1-5 through mid-October. They finally made the deal sending their #2, 3 and 4^th round picks in the NFL Draft 2023 plus a 5^th round selection in the following draft.

Look for a few more blockbuster deals with clubs looking to get the boost the Rams received last season when they acquired LB Von Miller. Teams in the bidding will have to have the salary cap dollars available to complete any deal which could create multiple moves. Many players are on their final contract year and eligible to enter the Free agent market in March 2023 which makes their cost cheaper for a player who may only be a rental piece before the offseason. With so many clubs alive for the playoffs, teams could be very active today to add the piece (s) to separate and make the critical run for the postseason with the Super Bowl wide open entering the stretch run.

 Offensive Players

QB Mason Rudolph, Steelers – Veteran QBs can be gold late in the season and postseason. Rudolph can command a 3^rd day selection as a key insurance policy for a contender.

Running Backs – Group features several feature backs who can give contenders a huge boost through the second half stretch run. Dolphins, Ravens, Rams and Bears are all definitely interested.

RB Josh Jacobs, Raiders – Raiders have caved in at 2-5 and Jacobs can bring a high selection, probably a #2 or #3 from a contender. Rams, Ravens and Dolphins interested.

RB Kareem Hunt, Browns – Productive veteran will generate much interest from contenders. Good fit for Dolphins and Bills. Probably commands an early middle round selection especially off strong Monday night performance.

RB Cam Akers, Rams – Malcontent will probably be moved if offered a late round selection. Expect it to get done. Dolphins, Bears and Bills are talking.

RB David Montgomery, Bears – Power back may be moved if they look to upgrade here. Probably brings a mid round selection.

RB Jeff Wilson 49ers – With McCaffrey in house now, a trade here is possible especially if they can land a corner in exchange. Straight up he warrants a 3^rd day selection.

RB Zack Moss, Bills – Possible move if a new veteran is added.

RB D’Ernest Johnson, Browns – Type will benefit from a new setting and can be a solid change of pace back.

Wide Receiver – This group will command the most interest by clubs. Expect a half of dozen moved by deadline with contenders trying to add another playmaker.

WR Chase Claypool, Steelers – Young big wideout has seen his role reduced in Pittsburgh. Good physical receiver with nice upside. Clubs like the Jets, Giants, Packers and Dolphins very interested. Probably 2nd day selection.

WR DJ Moore, Panthers – Young playmaker with high production and very durable. He will command a high selection (s) with contenders like Packers, Giants, Ravens and Dolphins all making calls.

WR Brandin Cooks, Texans – Veteran speedster has already been traded three times and is likely to move this week with contenders like the Packers, Rams and Ravens interested in adding his playmaking talent. His huge contract is a roadblock here which will reduce the number of clubs involved.

WR DJ Chark, Lions – First year veteran has not provided the playmaking desired here. He could command a middle round pick with the Rams, Packers, Dolphins and Giants talking.

WR AJ Green, Cardinals – Veteran is not the #1 receiver he was several years ago, but could help a playoff club in big games. May come cheap for a 3^rd down selection.

WR Jerry Jeudy, Broncos – Former#1 pick has been a disappointment with drops becoming an issue. A change of scenery could rejuvenate him. Possible destinations Giants, Packers and Rams interested.

WR Elijah Moore, Jets – Malcontent slot receiver has been more a locker room distraction than playmaker. Jets hoping for a middle round pick and possible trade outside the conference.

WR Nelson Agholor, Patriots – Fast veteran has been inconsistent throughout his career, though his vertical speed may entice another club to invest a later round selection.

WR KJ Hamler, Broncos – Injured prone slot receiver has not lived up to his high draft status. May only bring a late selection, though could be a gem for the club which uses him properly.

WR Kendrick Bourne, Patriots – Underrated veteran could help a contender with steady production and sound route running.

WR Kenny Golladay, Giants – High priced veteran has struggled staying on the field with hamstring issues. Rested since late September and could give a contender a quality #2 starter. Possible late pick.

WR Denzel Mims, Jets – Disgruntled young former #2 pick has not provided the impact on the outside expect. Jets are entertaining offers for a late selection.

TE position – This is a huge piece in pro passing games and these young veterans can warrant interest before the deadline.

TE Mike Gesicki, Dolphins – Fast sure handed receiving TE will become a free agent in March. He could come cheap if the Dolphins feel they can not resign him.

TE Albert Okwuegbunam  Broncos – Athlete has not been used to the fullest here. For a late round selection a contender might benefit from him filling a backup H back role.

TE Irv Smith, Vikings – Free agent in March, will warrant interest from contenders. Valuable to Vikes and a player they will attempt to resign before FA period.

OL Isaiah Wynn, Patriots – Mobile tackle/guard has performed well in the Patriots system. Teams like the Bengals, Cowboys and Rams interested.

OL Jackson Carman, Bengals – Young 2^nd round bust might be better in a new setting. Bengals listening.

OL Andre Dillard, Eagles – Bust at left tackle, but possible functional starter inside. Brings only conditional late pick

Defensive Players

DE Brian Burns, Panthers – Two high picks starting with a #1 pick for this Pro Bowler.

DE JJ Watt, Cardinals – Tough veteran can be a huge boost to a contender for the stretch run.

DE Yannick Ngakoue, Colts – Quick edge defender can provide impact as a rusher for situational packages.

DE Marcus Davenport, Saints – Huge edge talent has only touched surface of his skills, but has not had the breakout performance. He has a voidable contract this offseason and probably warrants only a mid round selection.

DE Clelin Ferrell, Raiders – Former high #1 has been very ordinary for the crashing Raiders.

DT Da’Ron Payne, Commanders – Tough interior lineman with time in the zero and three technique roles. May be tagged if no trade and enters FA market next March.

DT Jerry Tillery, Chargers – Young veteran has been somewhat disappointing. He can play both inside and outside and in either front. Probable 3^rd day selection.

LB Bradley Chubb, Broncos – Pro Bowl edge rushers are at a premium. He will command a #1 pick and clubs like the Jets, Dolphins, Rams and Vikings making strong bids.

LB Josh Allen, Jaguars – Edge rusher with big play talent. Though not as productive as Chubb or Burns, this is a playmaker with impact ability.

LB K’Lavon Chaisson, Jaguars – Young raw edge defender has been a first round bust thus far. Jaguars looking to move

LB Jerry Hughes, Texans – Savvy veteran could provide a boost to a contender’s defender. Price would be probably only be a third day selection.

CB William Jackson, Commanders – Veteran has not provided the impact expected when signed as a FA. Fine length and instincts could give a contender a solid #2 corner.

CB Bryce Hall, Jets – Long cover man has been relegated to the #3 corner if the addition of rookie Sauce Gardner. Could bring a middle round selection in any deal.

CB Sidney Jones, Seahawks – Veteran piece could command some interest from a contender for their sub packages.

S DeShon Elliott, Lions – One of many Lion defenders expected to move on this offseason. Elliott could help in dime package and bring a late round selection.

S Tarvarious Moore, 49ers – Upcoming free agent this spring may be moved to recover draft capital spent to land Christian McCaffrey.

Chiefs fought the Bills to the wire, but came up short this time. The travel to San Fran to face 49ers in a tough contest vs one of the leagues’ top defenses. Chiefs will be pressured all season in the toughest division.

#4 – 5-1 Vikings
Vikings beat the Dolphins behind another impressive performance by wideout Justin Jefferson. Get their bye week now to load up for 2nd half run. One of the best NFC clubs over the first half.

#5 – 4-2 Chargers
The Chargers outlasted the Broncos behind a strong game from runner Austin Ekeler. Host the Seahawks this Sunday, needing to win to stay apace the Chiefs.

#6 – 3-3 – Bucs
Bucs failed to bold off a late Steelers rally behind vet Mitchell Trubisky. Bucs seem to be falling and will need a good stretch run to run the average NFC South. They travel to Carolina hoping to stay above .500 entering midseason.

#7 – 4-2 – Cowboys
The Cowboys lost for the first time behind QB Cooper Rush vs the Eagles. Dak Prescott has been cleared to play, though probably sits another week. Host the Lions in a game they must have to stay abreast NFC contenders.

#8 – 5-1 Giants
The Giants continues to impress and play smart football behind runner Saquon Barkley and QB Danny Jones. They travel to Jacksonville where the Jaguars have proven to be a tough assignment at home.

#9 – 3-3 49ers
The 49ers were shocked by the Falcons showing little offense to control the game. QB Jimmy Garoppolo had a subpar performance. Their dominant D failed to produce in big spots. Host the Chiefs for NFC West leadership.

#10 – 3-3 Rams
Rams drilled the Panthers to end their two-game losing streak. Their offensive line is still their biggest issue on offense. They get a much needed bye week to regroup and get healthy at key positions.

#11 – 3-3 Ravens
The Ravens blew another 4^th quarter lead that puts them at the .500 mark. They host arch rival the Browns this week with each club pressing for a win to stay in playoff contention.

#12 – 3-3 Dolphins
Dolphins came short to the Vikings with further injuries at the QB position. QB Tua Tagovailo is about ready to return this week. Host the Steelers Sunday night looking to stay in the AFC playoff race.

#13 – 3-3 Packers
The Packers getting over a double Big Apple bashing. Their average receiving corps is limited Aaron Rodgers and could limit this club from beating the best NFC playoff clubs. Travel to the Capital this week needing a win to stay in playoff chase.

#14 – 3-2 Titans
The Titans are coming off their bye week and well rested to host South rival, the Colts. Look to get clubs
a steady diet of power back Derrick Henry thru the rest of the season.

#15 – 3-3 Bengals
The Bengals came on late to beat the Saints behind a strong performance from Joe Burrow. Their offense looked the best of the season last week. Host the Falcons this Sunday in a big spot to claim North leadership.

#16 – 3-3 Patriots
The Pats drilled the overrated Browns for their second impressive in a row. Rookie QB Zappe had a strong performance which could lead to a QB controversy. Host the Bears Monday looking to build much needed momentum for the second half run.

#17 – 4-2 Jets
Jets had another strong performance winning in Green Bay behind an aggressive defense.  Travel to Denver to face the desperate Broncos this Sunday. Only one game behind the Bills at midseason.

#18 – 3-2-1 Colts
Colts came back vs the Jaguars for the third time behind Matt Ryan. Face their arch South rival the Titans in Nashville this Sunday which will be for division leadership. QB Ryan has this club believing in itself and a win here could propel them through the 2nd half.

#19 – 3-3 Falcons
Falcons shocked the 49ers behind an impressive performance by QB Marcus Mariota. Their defense contained the 49ers and made two timely interceptions. Travel to Cincinnati for a key matchup hoping to string another win to stay in contention.

#20 – 3-3 Seahawks
Seahawks beat the Cardinals behind a strong rushing game by rookie Kenneth Walker. They travel to LA to face the Chargers hoping to prove there are a playoff contender.

#21 – 3-3 Cardinals
Cardinals were unimpressive vs the Seahawks with little offensive firepower the main culprit. QB Kyler Murray was looked lousy and looks to avenge this week at home vs the equally desperate Saints.

#22 – 2-4 Saints
The Saints lost a wild game vs the Bengals. They face a key Thursday matchup in Arizona that may determine the playoff hopes of two franchises.

#23 – 2-4 Jaguars
Jaguars came up short vs the Colts failing to hold a late lead. QB Trevor Lawrence had a solid performance but will be tested fully at home this week by the tough Giants.

#24 – 2-4 – Broncos
The Broncos have been lousy behind struggling Russell Wilson. They are the 2^nd lowest scoring offense which negates their strong defense weekly. Host the Jets this Sunday in a must win situation to stay in the AFC playoff picture.

#25 – 2-4 Browns
Browns continue to struggle to score points waiting for QB DeShaun Watson to be activated in late November. Travel to Baltimore for a critical game for their playoff hopes where the Ravens are equally pressed for a win.

#26 – 2-4 Steelers
Steelers shocked the Bucs behind former starter QB Matthew Trubisky who replaced injured Kenny Pickett. He led late scoring to beat the Bucs in a must win situation. Travel to Miami for key Sunday night matchup where the loser has an uphill battle to stay in contention.

#27- 1-4 Raiders
The Raiders are coming off their bye week and hope to regroup for a playoff run. They host the Texans this week and need a win to start a streak to get into the AFC West chase after a poor opening month.

The Commanders beat the Bears on Thursday night and are well rested for host the Packers this Sunday.  QB Carson Wentz will miss a few games and they will rely on backup Taylor Heinicke who gives them more mobility.

The Bears might be the worst offense in the game and came up empty vs the Commanders. Travel to New England to face the resurging Patriots who ae always well prepared for vital winnable matchups.

#30 – 1-3-1 Texans
Texans are coming off their bye week and travel to Las Vegas to face the desperate Raiders where the loser in everything but mathematically eliminated from postseason.

#31 – 1-4 Lions
Lions are coming off their bye week after being shutout by the Patriots in a terrible performance. They have allowed the most points in the league despite one less game. Travel to Big D in tough matchup where HC Dan Campbell in on the HC watch list.

#32 – 1-5 Panthers
Panthers were outclassed by the Rams in their first game since the firing of HC Matt Rhule. They host the Bucs and will start their 4^th QB in PJ Walker. This club is in total disarray and top candidate for #1 pick in the NFL Draft 2023.

The Giants victory in London was an organization win with the coaching staff and roster getting on the same page and finding a way to get it done. They face the Ravens at home this week looking to beat another strong playoff contender.

The Titans recovered from a weak start with a good win over the Commanders. They get their bye week

The Pats shutout the Lions to get back to the win column. Bill Belichick returns to Cleveland his first HC position. Patriots need a win here to stay apace the competitive AFC playoff hunt.

#17 – 3-2 Cardinals
Cardinals fought the Eagles, but came up short late. Offense has not generated much production which must improve to win big matchups. Travel to Seattle with both clubs needing a victory to get even at midseason.

#18 – 2-2-1 Colts
Colts are well rested coming off OT win vs the Broncos on Thursday night. QB Matt Ryan is adjusting slowly to this new offense and leads the league in interceptions. Runner Jonathan Taylor has been injured and is essential for a balanced attack. They host the Jaguars this week looking to stay apace in the AFC race.

#19 – 2-3 Saints
The Saints won a wild game vs the Seahawks. Host the Bengals in a key matchup to stay in contention. Starting QB Andy Dalton is playing well and the supporting cast is dangerous.

#20 – 3-2 Jets
Jets had their best overall performance in years when they bashed the Dolphins at home. Travel to Titletown to face the Packers this Sunday hoping to build on the momentum behind QB Zach Wilson.

#21 – 2-3 Jaguars
Jaguars are competitive weekly, but fail to close games with marginal offensive firepower limiting their bled away any chance of beating the Eagles. QB Trevor Lawrence fumbled four times which killed a few drives and also put them in bad field position. Host the Texans this week looking to stay abreast in the AFC South.

#22 – 2-3 – Broncos
The Broncos continue to struggle behind an erratic Russell Wilson. They are the 2^nd lowest scoring offense which has negated their strong defense. Travel to LA for huge matchup with the Chargers that is vital to staying in contention in the talented AFC West.

Falcons can’t beat Tommie Terrific in the South and it continues to keep them as a bottom feeder. They are competitive and give a strong effort, though this club comes up short on talent and experience. Host the hot 49ers in a huge test for their struggling offense.

Browns find ways to lose close games with marginal firepower which stresses their solid defense. They host the Patriots with both clubs borderline contenders who need a W here to remain among the leaders.

#25 – 2-3 Seahawks
Seahawks lost another wild game this time vs the Saints. QB Geno Smith continues to surprise with strong performances. Defense has surrendered the 2nd amount of points in the league. Host the Cardinals in an important NFC West matchup.

#26- 1-4 Raiders
The Raiders lost a wild game vs their arch rival Chiefs which keeps them in the West basement. Get their bye week to regroup and prepare for a long stretch run, hoping to duplicate last year’s strong playoff rally.

#27 – 1-4 Steelers
Steelers were crushed by the Bills behind Josh Allen. Their struggling attack has scored only 77 points in five games. They made the switch to rookie QB Kenny Pickett and will go through the growing pains to turn the page. Host the Bucs in a must win situation if they want any possibilities for staying in contention.

#28 – 2-3 Bears
The Bears came up short vs the Vikings especially on defense in coverage. Host the Commanders for Thursday night game, a winnable game that can get them to the .500 mark.

#29 – 1-3-1 Texans
Texans edged the Jaguars behind an impressive defensive performance. They get their bye week before facing the Raiders in the desert the following week.

#30 – 1-4 Lions
Lions were shutout by the Patriots in a terrible performance. They also have allowed the most points in the league with a whopping 170 points surrendered. Get their bye week now which could produce key changes before regrouping in two weeks.

#31 – 1-4 Commanders
The Commanders make the big mistakes weekly which keeps them behind most of each game. They are a low scoring offense with QB Carson Wentz making too many mistakes with the ball. Travel to Chi-town desperate to get into the win column.

#32 – 1-4 Panthers

The Chargers lost a tight game vs the Chiefs on Thursday night. Host the Jaguars this Sunday in a key AFC matchup and well rested. This matchup can be much bigger down the road.

#5 – 1-1 Rams
Rams held on to beat the Falcons with strong late defensive plays sealing their first victory. Travel to Arizona for their first NFC West matchup in the toughest division in the conference.

#6 – 2-0 Eagles
The Eagles blasted the Vikings behind a strong performance by QB Jalen Hurts. The Eagles are looking like the team to beat in the NFC East. Travel to Capital to face Commanders this Sunday.

#7 – 2-0 Dolphins
Dolphins made a great comeback to drill the Ravens behind QB Tua Tagovailo. Host the Bills in a battle for early season AFC East leadership.

#8 – 1-1 Packers
The Packers beat the Bears thoroughly again on Monday night. Travel to Tampa Bay for the next NFC battle between Aaron Rodgers and Tom Brady.

#9 – 1-1 49ers
The 49ers drilled the Seahawks to get into the win column. They lost QB Trey Lance and will go with former starter Jimmy Garoppolo. Travel to Denver to face an old friend in Russell Wilson.

#10- 1-1 – Broncos
The Broncos edged out a victory vs the Texans. Their offense has struggled to provide any consistency with only 32 total points behind Russell Wilson. Host the 49ers in a key matchup to get above 500.

#11 – 1-1 Steelers
Steelers struggled offensively vs the Patriots losing a key AFC matchup. Vet QB Matthew Trubisky faces a big test this week in Cleveland vs North rival the Browns. Their offensive line struggled last week and may hold the key more than the QB debate.

#12- 1-1 Ravens
The Ravens collapsed at home vs the Dolphins which was shocking in many ways. Travel to New England in their steady diet of AFC East clubs. Their defense has been inconsistent through the early games.

#13 – 0-2 Bengals
The Bengals lost another game by three points. Their offensive line was terrible vs the Cowboys this Joe Burrow under constant pressure. Host the Jets looking to get into the win column.

#14 – 1-1 Saints
The Saints lost wild game vs the Bucs. Travel to Carolina in another tough South matchup with the winless Panthers. QB Jameis Winston will have to become more productive especially vs playoff contenders.

#15 – 2-0 Giants
The Giants came back and beat the Panthers behind the strong leg of Graham Gano. They host the Cowboys this Monday night in the most important early season game in years.

#16 – 1-1 – Cowboys
The Cowboys rallied around QB Cooper Rush in the absence Dak Prescott.  Offense did just enough and relied on their aggressive defense that sacked Bengals Joe Burrow 6 times. Travel to MetLife for an important matchup with the Giants.

#17 – 1-1 Vikings
Vikings were outclassed by Eagles with a strong defensive performance which shut down their passing game completely. Host the improved Lions this week in a key NFC North matchup.

#18 – 1-1 Seahawks
Seahawks were held to 36 yards rushing and added two interceptions and were dominated by the 49ers defense. Host the struggling Falcons this Sunday.

#19 – 1-1 Browns
Browns collapsed in the 4th quarter vs the Jets, surrendering key late TD passes. Host the Steelers this Thursday night in an AFC North rivalry which usually plays out heavy in the final standings.

#20 – 1-1 Cardinals
Cardinals made a great comeback vs the Raiders behind some Kyler Murray magic and a pick six in OT to clinch their first victory. Host the Rams, hoping to avenge their playoff debacle loss in their third matchup last season.

#21 – 1-1 Patriots
The Pats might lack big time talent, but they know how to win. They beat the Steelers on sound defense that didn’t allow the big play and stuffed the run throughout. Host the Ravens this Sunday in a game which should feature aggressive defense and focus on both power ground game.

#22 – 1-1 Bears
The Bears faced longtime rival the Packers last week and were drilled in another poor performance vs Aaron Rodgers.

#23 – 1-1 Lions
Lions exploded for another 35 point performance with QB Jared Goff playing very well. Their defense must improve both vs the run and pass. Travel to Minnesota for a key NFC North contest.

#24 – 1-1 Jaguars
Jaguars young defense shut down the Colts completely. QB Trevor Lawrence is playing well with new weapons that make this club dangerous going forward. Travel to the Chargers this week in a key AFC matchup.

#25 – 0-1-1 Colts
QB Matt Ryan struggled under heavy pressure by the Jaguars including 5 sacks and 3 interceptions. Runner Jonathan Taylor could only rush for 54 yards as Jacksonville won for the 8^th consecutive time at home vs the Colts. Host the Chiefs in a vital matchup for them to stay in the AFC picture.

#26 – 0-2 Titans
The Titans were toasted by the Bills on Monday night. They have problems on both sides of the ball with marginal rushing from the usually potent Tennessee ground game and average passing from QB Ryan Tannehill. They host the equally desperate Raiders this Sunday.

#27 – 0-2 Raiders
The Raiders collapsed vs the Cardinals and face a must win situation in Tennessee this week. They fail to run the ball effectively and rely on Derek Carr to carry this lifeless attack. They face Broncos and Chiefs in the ensuing weeks.

#28 – 1-1 Commanders
The Commanders came up short vs the Lions as they surrendered 4 TD passes and failed to protect QB Carson Wentz. Host the hot Eagles in a key NFC East contest.

#29 – 1-1 Jets
Jets made a great 4^th quarter comeback with QB Joe Flacco throwing 2 late TD passes for the victory. They host the desperate Bengals this Sunday as their difficult first half schedule continues.

#30 – 0-2 Falcons
Falcons came up short again with their late rally ending in turnovers. Their defense disappointed again and their attack lacks potent scoring potential vs top clubs. Travel to Seattle looking for their initial 2022 victory.

#31 – 0-2 Panthers
Panthers lost a battle of field goals with the GMen. They face a difficult upcoming month which probably does not bode well for this coaching staff’s future.

#32 – 0-1-1 Texans
Texans have been competitive in their early games, though lack the fire power to get over the top.
This club travels to Chicago where the Bears looking to stay pace in the NFC North.
