The Buffalo Bills’ Josh Allen was voted the NFL MVP award after an outstanding 2024 performance. He directed the Bills to their 5th consecutive AFC East title followed by impressive postseason wins over the Broncos and Ravens. The Bills lost another dramatic matchup with the Chiefs who moved on to another Super Bowl appearance.
Allen had 41 offensive touchdowns for fourth in the NFL, a 101.4 passer rating for eighth in the league and only six interceptions. He was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week four different times. He also became the first player in NFL history to record at least 25 passing TDs, 10 rushing TDs and one receiving TD in a season.

Allen was truly worthy of the award. He lost his top two receivers Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis in the offseason. He worked with a solid group of skill position players behind a very good front line. His combination of powerful arm to drive the ball down the field, strong scrambling where he is capable of running away or over defenders and savvy decision making earned him the coveted award. He clearly did the most with the least among his competitors.
In what was one of the most hotly contested MVP races in recent memory, Allen received 27 of the 50 first-place votes, four more than Jackson, who was selected first-team All-Pro last month. It’s the same voters for MVP and All-Pro, which is why many thought Jackson was the favorite to win what would have been his third MVP award.
