Texans Acquire Marvin Harrison
Frank Coyle/ Head scout
Houston Texans acquired young veteran receiver, Marvin Harrison and a 7th round selection from the Arizona Cardinals for a 2027 2nd-round and 6th-round picks. The trade follows weeks of speculation and rumor s that the Cardinals were listening to offers from several clubs, including the Texans and Colts.
The Texans reportedly was in strong trade talks for Harrison, looking to add a playmaker to their inconsistent offense. It was a surprise deal for the former 4th overall pick of the 2024 NFL Draft. He has shown just average type production in an ever-changing QB rotation for the struggling team.
In 33 games into his pro career, Harrison has struggled to living up to his high draft billing. He entered his third season with 103 catches for 1,493 yards and 12 TDs over 29 games, but he struggled through consistency and injuries over those first two years.
His play fell further this fall and totaled just five receptions on 13 targets for 85 yards and a TD in 2026. He sat out this past Sunday with the deal pending over the weekend. The Texans are hoping his reunion with his former college QB in C.J. Stroud will jumpstart them into their former dominant performance. The Texans are led by Nico Collins and maybe the recent returning Tank Dell to give the Texans a potent receiver corps.
It was another quality trade within the past few weeks with clubs vying for playoff position before the upcoming deadline on Nov. 10th. There could be an active trading period over the next four weeks with most deals involving veterans for NFL Draft picks over the next two years.
