NFL Draft 2023 – First-round Selection Order
Texans Hold Two #1 Selections in the Top Seven Overall Choices
With the NFL season entering the Thanksgiving weekend and the start of the playoff stretch run, teams will determine weekly whether they are contenders or pretenders. With seven games remaining, NFL divisional races are extremely tight with the NFC East, West and South along with the AFC East, all having multiple clubs within a game of the leadership spot. Last year’s Super Bowl champion, the LA Rams is currently in the NFC West basement and faces a must win situation weekly starting with their challenging trip to Kansas City this weekend. In addition, the Rams do not have their #1 selection, being held by the Lions in the trade for QB Mitchell Stafford. Four other clubs do not have a #1 pick, the Browns, 49ers, Dolphins and Saints. Four clubs have two #1 selections, the Texans, Lions, Seahawks and Eagles.
The final order for picks 19 through 32 will be decided by NFL playoff results. The strength of schedule percentage is for each club’s current season.
